Welcome to the MSc in Digital Supply Chain Management. We are delighted to welcome you to the Bayes Business School. This page provides a short introduction to your forthcoming postgraduate studies and offers guidance on how you can prepare for the academic year ahead.

The Induction Period

Your postgraduate journey begins with a compulsory two week induction period. This is designed to help you settle into the programme, meet your fellow students, become familiar with the campus, and connect with both academic staff and the Careers Team.

During these two weeks, you will:
* Attend a range of introductory sessions, including quantitative skills workshops
* Take part in tailored careers events and activities
* Complete the final stages of your university registration

You will receive your full induction timetable between July and August.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to campus this September.

Recommended Pre Course Preparation

Quantitative Foundations

Given the analytical nature of modern supply chains, the programme includes a strong quantitative component. We therefore recommend refreshing some core undergraduate mathematics and statistics before the course begins.

In particular, reviewing the following areas would be beneficial:

* Basic probability

* Descriptive statistics

* Matrices and basic linear algebra

* Basic differentiation and integration

This preparation will help you feel more confident during the analytical elements of the programme.

Current Affairs and Academic Discussion

Some of classes are highly interactive and discussion based. To help you engage fully with classroom debates, we encourage you to regularly follow high quality business news and commentary through publications such as the Financial Times, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal.

In particular, we recommend keeping up to date with developments in the following areas:
* Digitalisation and Automation: The growing use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in supply chains
* Supply Chain Resilience: How organisations respond to geopolitical risks, nearshoring, and global disruptions
* Sustainability and ESG: The transition towards carbon neutral operations, circular economy practices, and ethical sourcing

Please note that you are not expected to read textbooks before the programme begins. However, you are welcome to explore the reading lists and details of core textbooks, which will be provided in the official Student Handbook.

Timetabling and Logistics

You should use the MyTimetable system to view your timetables. Your timetable will be available later this summer. Important: To help you generate an accurate timetable please read this quick guide on how to use the system first.

A provisional PDF copy of the induction timetable is also available [here].
