Study+ is a new way at City St George's, University of London to explore a topic or theme as a credited module beyond the scope of your main programme of study. The aim is to add new skills and perspectives to your programme, which is why we have chosen to call it Study+.
The available modules are open to undergraduates students who will be in their second year of study, stage 2, in the 2025/26 academic year on eligible programmes. They have been designed so they are accessible to students from all types of degree background regardless of prior learning.
This is an exciting start to our ambition to deliver interdisciplinary content through our programmes at City St George's. Whilst this is currently limited to students on particular programmes, our hope is that year on year this will grow and broaden to increase the offer to even more students.
Below you can explore the modules available from all six of our academic Schools for you to choose from.

Whether you're new to a language or looking to build upon your existing knowledge, these courses are designed to develop and improve your skills through interactive teaching.
You can choose any one of the following languages at the relevant level to your experience:
- French, German and Spanish - beginner, lower intermediate and upper intermediate and advanced
- Arabic - beginner and lower intermediate
- Mandarin and Russian - beginner
There are two programmes of language courses:
- Languages for Breadth (LBM) - taught in the context of every-day-life
- Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP) - some of the vocabulary and topics are specific to Media and Social Science. However, at the lower levels the course content is very similar.
As there are limited places available on these courses and there will be timetable constraints, we will offer you a place on either programme where there is capacity or what will best fit your timetable.
Should you wish to study a language through Study+, you will need to complete the Centre for Languages' online registration form. If you have some prior knowledge in your chosen language, you will need to indicate this and you will be presented with an online diagnostic test as part of this which you should complete to the best of your ability. Based on the result and your prior learning, you will be allocated to the appropriate level of experience.
You can share any questions regarding the language courses by emailing the Languages Admin team and including "Study+ module" within the subject line.
Outside of Study+, at the start of each academic year all students can also apply to study a language for free as a non-credited extracurricular activity, including a specific programme for Bayes students.
