Academic
The Academic Skills Team (AST) is made up of experienced tutors who work with students to build essential academic skills. They offer guidance on understanding assignment instructions, developing critical thinking, avoiding plagiarism, and managing time effectively.
The team uses a proactive and developmental approach, aiming to enhance your academic experiences and improve your future work. Available resources include:
- Online 1:1 advice sessions: These sessions are free and confidential meetings with an Academic Skills tutor to discuss any study-related matters.
- Webinars and workshops: A variety of free sessions covering various topics to support your learning journey.
- Moodle: The Academic Skills Moodle course contains videos, study guides, and resources designed to improve your efficiency and effectiveness in your studies.

English for academic purposes (EAP): Academic writing and English language support is available to all City St George's students but will be especially useful for students whose first language is not English. Read more
Health and wellbeing
Our Student Health & Wellbeing team is comprised of four services which provide specialist practical and emotional support to students. Here's a quick overview of our services:
- Student Health and Wellbeing Engagement Service: We offer health promotion, initial conversations, and individual consultations focusing on your general wellbeing.
- Student Disability and Neurodiversity Service: Providing guidance and reasonable adjustments for students with long-term health conditions, physical disabilities, or ASD. We also offer personalised study skills advice tailored to students with specific learning differences.
- Student Mental Health Service: Offering practical and emotional support throughout your studies, including specialist mentoring and recommendations for reasonable adjustments.
- Student Counselling Service: Confidential counselling to help you understand and manage any issues affecting your wellbeing and psychological health.
- Student Welfare Officer: Within your School and course there are a number of key members of staff to support you academically as well as for your wellbeing or student experience.
Personal tutoring
As a City St George's student, you will be assigned a dedicated personal tutor. This is a member of the academic staff who will guide you through your programme and support your personal and professional development, to enable you to achieve your potential and prepare you for life after University. Our brand new Student Support Hub
Our Student Support Hub has been designed to transform how students interact with our services. Placing students at the heart of everything we do, this is a single, modern, interactive hub for accessing services more easily, while being a dedicated space for students to socialise and study.
The Hub has a range of facilities such as private booths for interviews, large rooms for group study as well as a Sensory Room for neurodiverse students and a rest room for students who are feeling overwhelmed or need a private space for health purposes.

In August 2024, City, University of London merged with St George’s, University of London. We are now City St George’s, University of London.
Though we are now one institution, full integration will take some time. You may still see reference to our legacy City and St George’s names and logos, but these will be updated to reflect the merger in due course.
For the 2025/26 academic year, we are operating under a ‘dual running model’, with separate application policies and procedures. Programmes and study locations for 2025 entry are expected to remain unchanged.
