I am pleased to introduce you to the School of Policy & Global Affairs, which is a centre of world-class scholarship, education and public service, making a transformative impact on society. Our aim is to be the School for Transformative Education and World Class Research.
Located in one of the world’s greatest financial and political centres, our School is welcoming, cosmopolitan, and outward-looking. We bring together world renowned academics working in three departments: Sociology and Criminology, Economics and International Politics.
Our School is a dynamic community with an inclusive mix of students both local and global. We are home to around 2,000 students and around 100 staff. We are ambitious and we want our students to be too.
We aim to enrich the lives and enhance the career prospects of our students, provide a first-class education and student experience which is inspiring, innovative and engaged with the world beyond academia.

Our School
The School is building its research intensity, delivering a significant improvement to the impact of its research. Academic staff produce high-quality research through the School's research centres and think tanks.
As a student in the School of Policy & Global Affairs, you will have the chance to engage with key challenges and debates that are shaping policy formation.

In August 2024, City, University of London merged with St George’s, University of London. We are now City St George’s, University of London.
Though we are now one institution, full integration will take some time. You may still see reference to our legacy City and St George’s names and logos, but these will be updated to reflect the merger in due course.
For the 2025/26 academic year, we are operating under a ‘dual running model’, with separate application policies and procedures. Programmes and study locations for 2025 entry are expected to remain unchanged.
