About Dr Itziar Castello‑Molina
Dr Itziar Castello‑Molina is a Reader in Sustainability and Digital Economy at Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London. Her research explores how sustainability and climate change discourses are framed and constructed in social media and public spheres, including social movements and international organisations. She uses theories relating to deliberation, identity, legitimacy and emotions to explain how to mobilise for social change and stakeholder engagement. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Research Policy, Journal of Business Venturing, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies and Journal of Business Ethics.
Dr Castello‑Molina has more than 20 years’ experience researching and working in the sustainability and ESG field. She has served as advisor and consultant to organisations including Lafarge, Suez, Telefonica, GE, 3M and FedEx in developing sustainability strategies and stakeholder engagement processes. Her research has been recognised for its societal impact, ranking in the Financial Times’ list of management research with significant societal contribution.
She is the Course Director of the Sustainable Management and Finance MSc at Bayes Business School.
