My Master's helped me get a new role

"As part of the Consulting Project, Bayes gave us a three month engagement with a private charitable fund, called Lund Trust. Although the client was provided by Bayes, it was up to us to define the project timeline and scope, understand the client’s challenges, and conduct the analyses in such a way as to address these challenges. It was an exciting sustainability project.

Within three months, we defined a framework for sustainable investment to help Lund Trust select the cities within the UK to invest in for urban greening. Specifically, urban greening includes activities like planting trees and creating parks to improve the environmental and social characteristics of cities.

It was highly rewarding to work with Lund Trust to make a real-life impact. This project also became a key factor that helped me get my first job in management consulting, because it differentiated me in the interview process. Having that practical experience really was invaluable."

Secured a job before my graduation

"Prior to studying MSc Actuarial Management, I worked for 3 years with PwC as a Senior Associate within their Risk Modelling Services. I predominantly worked on non-life insurance projects. The MSc in Actuarial Management was very relevant to the actuarial skills used in the industry and offered hands on experience.

Other than the subjects which provide exemption from IFoA examination, several other elective modules helped in my technical development. I particularly liked the business analytics module I took in term 3 which was very challenging and provided the breadth needed for an actuary looking to divulge in new exciting areas.
