A new role, a new city, a new industry

Before the MBA, I’d built my career in hospitality in Dubai and later moved into finance with Expedia in Seattle. I loved the variety of roles I’d taken on, but I reached a point where I wanted to take a step back, explore new industries, and think more strategically about my next move. The Bayes MBA gave me that opportunity. I especially valued the hands-on learning, from group strategy projects to the Business Integration Project I completed with Google Fibre. The Digital Transformation elective in Silicon Valley was a real highlight, and a meeting I had there inspired my shift into design consulting.

Now, I’m a Senior Consultant at EY Seren in London, a role I discovered through a Bayes alumna which just shows the value of the Bayes alumni network. My role blends business analysis, product thinking, and design which is exactly the kind of space I wanted to move into. The Careers Team played a big role in helping me figure that out, from CV support to mock interviews and networking advice. Having spent time developing those skills during the MBA made stepping into consulting much more natural. For me, the MBA wasn’t just a career pivot — it was a launchpad into work I’m genuinely passionate about.

Pursuing the Full-time MBA at Bayes Business School has been a truly transformative experience. I came in looking to strengthen my leadership skills and broaden my global business perspective, but the journey has delivered far more than I expected.

Core modules

The Bayes Full-time MBA is built around four core modules that provide a powerful foundation in business and leadership. The four core modules are:

Leadership, Strategy and Organisational Dynamics – focuses on core management skills including leadership, financial reporting, and strategic thinking.
Global Economy and Investments – develops your ability to analyse global markets, apply data insights, and make sound financial decisions.
Operational Excellence and Marketing – builds practical expertise in managing people, processes, and marketing strategies across industries.
Sustainable Corporate Innovation and Finance – explores responsible business practices, corporate finance, and the impact of digital innovation.

Each module blends academic theory with real-world application, helping you build the critical, analytical, and practical skills you need to succeed across industries and borders. Whether you want to pivot your role, shift sectors or move to a new country, the Bayes MBA gives you the tools to make it happen.

Career Impact, Employability and Professional Development

The Career Impact and Employability module is designed to help you take control of your professional development and long-term career goals. Through personalised coaching, self-reflection, and structured career planning, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, interests, and unique value and learn how to communicate that effectively in competitive job markets.

Throughout the module, you’ll build in-demand skills such as personal branding, leadership, collaboration, and effective networking, while also developing mental toughness and agility. You’ll explore leadership styles, learn how to inspire followership, and strengthen your communication under pressure, preparing you to lead confidently in any environment.

You’ll also take part in a dedicated Professional Development Week, designed as an immersive experience focused on learning through direct action and reflection. Held off campus, this week moves you away from traditional work and study environments to explore personal growth in new contexts. You’ll engage in practical activities and thought-provoking ‘learning metaphors’ that serve as a foundation for feedback and discussion with trained facilitators and your peers.

International Consultancy Week

The International Consultancy Week gives you the chance to work on a live business challenge for a company abroad, from start-ups to large organisations in countries like Ireland, Iceland, and Poland. You'll spend one week on-site collaborating with the business, followed by four weeks to develop and present your recommendations.

This experience allows you to apply your learning to real-world problems across areas like strategy, marketing, HR, finance, or operations while gaining insight into new markets, working in a different culture, and strengthening your skills as a consultant, leader, and team player.

Projects

As part of the Full-time MBA, you will take on two major projects designed to apply your learning in real business contexts: the Strategy Project and the Business Integration Project.

The Strategy Project is a three-month team consultancy assignment with a company operating in the UK. Acting as directors, senior managers, and consultants, you will analyse a live strategic challenge such as international expansion or digital transformation and present practical recommendations directly to the client. You will draw on core MBA learnings and your professional experience to develop solutions. Past student projects have included market sizing, competitive analysis, growth strategy, and presenting to C-suite executives.

The Business Integration Project is an individual, self-directed research project that lets you explore a business issue or opportunity, often within a company of your choice. With guidance from a Bayes academic advisor, you will examine a multi-disciplinary topic that brings together at least two areas of your MBA learning. Whether you are developing a business plan, conducting consultancy or desk research, or building a sector case study, this project allows you to demonstrate your analytical ability and apply your MBA in a professional context.

Electives

Bayes offers a flexible and tailored approach to learning, giving you the freedom to align your studies with your career goals. You can choose from a broad range of elective modules that cover emerging trends, specialist topics, and critical business disciplines or focus on building expertise in a particular area.

You also have the opportunity to take multiple international electives, gaining first-hand experience of how business is shaped by different cultures, economies, and regulatory environments.
